To anyone who is reading this please keep to your goals and keep strong. It is possible to get off the grog and still enjoy yourself!
Just over four years ago I made a decision to stop drinking entirely. I did this after ‘another’ night on the turps and waking up ‘again’ feeling like crap.
I searched the internet for guidance, help, a quick fix, anything that would help me to achieve what seemed like the impossible and stop drinking alcohol once and for all.
During my search I came across Rahul and his site on how to give up alcohol. I have to say that without his help I doubt very much that I would be sober 100% since 9 Sep 2010.
I’m fit and active and taking part in social gatherings. I drink diet cola, sparkling mineral water, coffee or tea.
I have come to realize that a big part of my drinking problem (yes, it is still a problem) is the fact that I am a guzzler. Coffee, tea, soft drink, water; it doesn’t matter what it is. I drink it down fast and then I’m off to get another almost immediately. When I relate this to my heavy alcohol drinking I know that this must have been a big part of the problem. I remember doing this with wine, beer or spirits. The glass had to be big, filled to the brim and I would just swill it down and fill it up straight away! Maybe you relate to this?
